My work is about visuality and materiality. How we see and how information is shown to us in the contemporary world. Sometimes a panorama, sometimes incremental. There is a decided difference between how humanity shows it’s face and how nature shows hers. I began to see painting as the visual bridge between the natural world and the flat world. The origins and functions of painting seem to be growing increasingly obscure, now more than ever the relationship between ourselves and the unseen, the dead, and the unborn cannot ultimately rely on something that can be unplugged.
